About this assembly
Der ukrainische Kulturverein „RIDNA DOMIVKA“ verbindet die in Graz und in der Steiermark lebenden Ukrainer:innen und strebt das gegenseitige „Für-einander-da-sein“ an.
Der Verein setzt eine vielfältige Auswahl an Aktivitäten um und sieht sich als Verbindungsglied zwischen der ukrainischen und der österreichischen Kultur. Das Unterrichten der ukrainischen Sprache für bilinguale Kinder in Graz, die Förderung der ukrainischen Kultur sowie die Erweiterung der bilateralen Beziehungen zwischen der Ukraine und Österreich in den Bereichen Kultur, Kunst und Bildung sieht der Verein „RIDNA DOMIVKA“ als seine wichtigsten Ziele und Aufgaben an. Der Verein möchte allen Grazer:innen ukrainische Kunst & Kultur, Bräuche & Traditionen näherbringen. Seit dem invasiven Krieg Russlands gegen die Ukraine wird auch verstärkt gemeinsam mit geflüchteten Menschen gearbeitet.

Die Bezeichnung „RIDNA DOMIVKA“ lässt sich sehr schwer ins Deutsche übersetzen, da es für beide Wörter keinen adäquaten Begriff gibt. Man könnte „RIDNA DOMIVKA“ wörtlich als „Liebliches Heim“ oder „Das geborene Zuhause“ übersetzen: Das Elternhaus, aus dem wir kommen und die Heimat, aus der wir stammen, also „Ein Zuhause“. Es ist kein Zufall, dass mit diesem Namen ein Kulturverein bezeichnet wird, da in diesen beiden Wörtern „RIDNA DOMIVKA“ (auf kyrillisch „РІДНА ДОМІВКА“) die Besonderheit der kulturellen Identität der Ukraine und die Einzigartigkeit der ukrainischen Sprache ineinander eingebettet sind.
